“Cheapest” Gas in Green Valley

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

Safeway on La Canada had gas yesterday for $1.71/gallon.
But not to worry.
Spend $50 on groceries (that’s hardly two grocery bags anymore) and get a 6 cent discount!
The Circle K across the street was changing their price at the time. Who knows what the price will be when you read this.
OK, what can we […]

Summers may be hot in Green Valley, but…

… no Katrina.
I can only imagine what it must be like in New Orleans and the surrounding area.

1. Supported the invasion of Iraq, and think we should finish the job.
2. Supported the invasion of Iraq, but feel we should pull out now.
3. Didn’t support the invasion of Iraq, and feel we should pull […]

Audiobook Downloads

Friday, August 26th, 2005

A new way to borrow audiobooks from the library involves no CDs, no car trips, no fines and no risk of being shushed.

Now, that was some rain!

Monday, August 22nd, 2005

We had it all. At mid-afternoon today, thunder rumbled and a rainstorm with high wind and hail swept through Green Valley.
Power was off for 30 minutes or so, temperature dropped about 20 degrees, and then…
it was over.

Quail in Green Valley

Monday, August 22nd, 2005

With apologies to Edgar Alan Poe.
Once upon a morning clearly, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore–
While I computed, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my bedroom door.
‘Tis some visiter,” I muttered, “tapping at my bedroom door–
Only this […]
