Part of the suggestion was to remove the upgrading portion of the code in order to make the software run faster. I think that was the area of concern. That would abridge freedom of speech. Now if it was a long paper or such, maybe, but I doubt it. But you are correct in your action, who needs a lawsuit when you're retired and trying to enjoy the good life.
