Blogging with WordPress
Green Valley Moment Stats:
There have been 398 page views since this blog went online; 92 posts and 19 comments, contained within 7 categories. You can monitor the activity by scrolling down and reading the last number on the right sidebar.
I have no way of knowing if a ratio of 20%, 19 comments to 92 posts, is average or not. But I would think that with 52 page views in the last four days, there should be more comments. Maybe I need to post more controversial subjects or more political or personal views. Maybe I need to rethink the purpose of this blog. Maybe not.
There are at least two people (friends) who read this blog daily. Thanks. That’s my purpose; to provide a source of information that’s of interest to others, whether they choose to comment or not.
Posting to a blog on a daily basis can sometimes be a chore. But it’s a chore I promised myself I would do whenever possible. A comment now and then just gives me renewed energy.
Now, what is WordPress? WordPress is free, open source blogging software, and the blogging system I use for this blog. There are many features, hacks (optional add-ons) and tools available. I will continue to investigate and tweak Green Valley Moments as time permits.
Oh, about the previous entry. Don’t think you are missing anything. I just saw I could password protect a file. Enter the word “password” and you can see how this works. Maybe I will password protect some posts in the future and only make them available to registered users. Maybe not.
To be continued…
