Cafe Poca Cosa
We ate yesterday at Cafe Poca Cosa in Tucson and I had forgotten how great it is. I’m certain that dinner is equally as satisfying, but I have only gone there at lunchtime.
Chips and salsa arrived after our drink order was taken by our server. We agreed that the salsa was probably the best we had tasted in Arizona. Maybe anywhere!
The voice menu was filled with several beef and chicken selections, and a vegetarian and even a seafood entree. As usual, I ordered the Sample Platter; three items…Chef’s choice. When it arrived, my plate was filled with hunks of Skirt Steak with a Chile Verde sauce, Chicken Breast with a Mole Sauce, and a super delicious Corn Tamale. Plate presentation was superb with greens, veggies and fresh fruit in the middle.
The lunch with beverages and a generous tip was about $16 per person. Only downside is the noise. Go early (we arrived at 11:30 AM) and ask for a table at the far end, or dine outside.
Oh, and one other thing. Don’t eat breakfast, and you will probably not even need dinner. This is quality food served in huge quantities.
The restaurant is located at 88 East Broadway, take the Congress Street exit off of I-19.
