Coffee or Cappuccino?

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

This really isn’t about coffee, and it has little to do with cappuccino. I wanted some coffee while I was in Tucson yesterday morning so I walked into a small deli.

“Would you like coffee or cappuccino?” she responded.
“OK, sure, I’ll have a cappuccino.”

Memorial Service

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

We visited my Mother yesterday at La Posada. She was at a Memorial Service for a former resident when we arrived
We caught the end of a very nice service. Mother later showed us the printed hand-out. It contained a prayer about aging. There’s something here for everyone.

New bikes with forward pedals

Saturday, February 11th, 2006

Our bikes, matching Schwins from over twenty years ago, patiently hang from hooks in our garage. Even with the addition of larger seats, they were still a PIA to ride. Seniors especially should love these crank forward models.

In the Green Valley area, there are 33 plans from which to choose including the original Medicare plan, […]

Diners!

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

I love diners.
Dona’s Diner in Green Valley almost qualifies. Almost, because it’s located in a shopping mall, and the cooks aren’t anywhere to be seen.
I love the old-style diners that were prevalent through the 1950s…those American institutions that offered generous portions of comfort food at bargain-basement prices.
As much as the food, I really […]

Medicare Drug Program Enrollment Starts Today

Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

WASHINGTON - It’s been a long wait for Medicare beneficiaries, but about two years after Congress approved a new prescription drug benefit, senior citizens and the disabled finally get to enroll, beginning Tuesday (today).
Officials say the beneficiaries need to think about signing up — but not necessarily to decide right away which drug plan is […]
