“Cheapest” Gas in Green Valley

Safeway on La Canada had gas yesterday for $1.71/gallon.

But not to worry.

Spend $50 on groceries (that’s hardly two grocery bags anymore) and get a 6 cent discount!

The Circle K across the street was changing their price at the time. Who knows what the price will be when you read this.

OK, what can we do?

I was in Phoenix last week during rush hour traffic. Since there were two of us, we used the car pool lane. We passed hundreds of cars and trucks in the other lanes, all with only one person in the vehicle, all going in our direction.

Why can’t more people car pool, or use public transportation if it exists, or change their driving habits, or push our legislators to get behind alternative fuel sources, or…?

Compared with Europe and other places, our gasoline prices are still low, and I don’t really expect that prices will do anything but generally increase in the future.

KC gas price today up 25 cents to $2.99; diesel, $2.79.

I must go to Omaha in the AM to pick up product. The round trip will cost me about $75.00. This means coffee price will go up!

Gas at Safeway this am (Sept. 4) was $3.09. At Circle K, it was $3.29. Anyone see an end in sight?
Last year, the Attorney General proposed the legislature pass an “anti-gouging” law. This was after the pipeline problem made gas in Phoenix somewhat scarce, and when any number of stations took advantage of this without justification. At least one station raised the price to over $5.00 a gallon. Our Neanderthal legislature, totally in the pocket of business and the Mormon church, turned it down. Now look what we are stuck with—gouging everywhere and nothing (effectively) that can be done.
This state sucks when it comes to anything progesssive.
