Congress Members Starting to “Blog”

Representative Mike Pence of Indiana (Mike’s Blog) is one of the few members of Congress who have a blog.

Others include Congressman Mark Kirk of Illinois, Representative Kathryn Harris of Florida, and Senator Patrick Leahy from Vermont.

But, are they really bloggers? A typical blogger creates his/her own blog, personally updates the blog on a regular basis, and includes links to other blogs and websites. Most of the posts in these blogs were created by staff members.

Bloggers allow comments on their posts, and allow others to view those comments, even if the comments are contrary to their opinion.

I guess if you are in Congress you aren’t interested in sharing what others think.
