Current Weather and Latest Poll
I added a couple of new features to this blog yesterday.
You probably didn’t even notice.
• Current Weather (from the National Weather Service at the Tucson Airport), and
• Latest Poll
If you scroll downward, you will eventually find them at the bottom of the right sidebar (column). I may move the poll towards the top where it’s handy if you think it worthy. If I do insert a poll, I will try to pose meaningful queries consistent with the focus of this site.
The jury is still out on the weather info. I don’t really care much for the weather insert that currently appears at the top of the sidebar.
What do you think?
Edit: Found a way to insert a poll in a post. Seems much better than trying to find it in the sidebar. Not only that, I can create a category “Polls” and each poll would be available for reference in the future. OldGeezer

I like the expanded weather feature. More information is always good.
Polls are good too. I participate in a couple regularly. I believe in the Chicago electoral model…vote early and often…so there should be a way to block multiple votes from the same source.

I find the new weather informative, especially during the monsoon season when we are concerned with dew points and the like.
The Poll wouldn’t be used in a Chicago atmosphere. It was in use on another site and I tried to vote twice by using a different browser. I got a prompt to “try stuffing the ballot box elsewhere.”
Can it prevent you from having friends and family vote as you direct, or from going to a library and voting? No. But hey, if you really believe that strongly in your position on a subject, stuff away!
