Received a phone call from Dell just now. No fraud they said. Some order clerk with Dell got into my account by mistake. I got a "thousand apologies."

Stuff happens, I guess, but it cost me a lot of time.

Honcho, I feel your pain.

My Mother's medical insurance premium with Blue Cross/Blue Shield was an automatic debit from her checking account. When I requested a refund of unearned premium for the month of her death, I was told that they couldn't credit her account, but would have to issue a check payable to her estate.

I am learning to loathe big corporations!

Spent 30 minutes on the phone this morning trying to get some action. The phone number and extension given to me for the Fraud Department did not work.

Redirected to two different departments and was finally advised that the account was being suspended for fraud. Did not get any answer on how someone was able to access my account.

I was advised that I had to create a new account with Dell for future orders. Fat Chance!

I have run into the "It's our fault but you have to work our system to get it resolved" several times. The latest was at Home Depot. The cashier made an error which I discovered while my purchases were being bagged. It was "too late" and I had to take it to the customer service desk to get it straighten out (which they did speedily and with no questions). I still don't understand why the cashier couldn't have fixed it. Your problem is more severe but it's the same old crap!
