How to tell that you are in Iowa and not Arizona

Almost all of the trees have leaves with no thorns, needles, spines, or other barbed objects.

Homes have porches and decks, perfect for sitting and enjoying the gentle breeze at night.

You can find a three bedroom, 2 bath home with 1,500 square feet for well under $100,000.

There is no town in the state with a population over 200,000.

There is a green carpet around the homes that they call “grass.” It does have to be cut regularly, though.

It seems like almost everyone knows everyone else.

Store clerks are always smiling and are extremely patient and helpful.

Most of the residents were born there.

You can actually order a real Pork Tenderloin Sandwich.
