Open Mic Weekend

OK, so I haven’t blogged for a couple of days. We all have the same 24 hour day; we just have different priorities, and for me, blogging hasn’t been a high priority this week.

Why don’t you take over this weekend and let us know what’s on your mind. Here’s some starter topics.

High gas prices and the responsibility therefore?
Regular gas in Green Valley today at Circle K was $2.97/gallon.

The NFL Football draft and the trials of Reggie Bush?

Microsoft hits 52 week low and Billy loses about 3 billion on his holdings?

Economy posts best growth in 2.5 years?

Iran defies the United Nation re: uranium?

Jump in here! There’s a lot to talk about.

OK. I’ll tackle the “gas prices.” Long term is very bad. The supply is limited/dwindling plus demand is way up (China and India) and will increase. Short term, there may be some relief but it won’t be much. Of course the energy/oil companies are making obscene profits which doesn’t help any.

Honcho, you mention supply and demand, and from what I have read, that still seems to drive gas prices.

I heard today that the State of California uses more gasoline than any other country!

I know we are combining trips in the car when before, we would just go at will. I think we will see demand decrease in the US, and prices start to come down. On the other hand, I don’t look for any roll back to prices from a year ago. JMHO.

    High Gas Prices!
We will just have to live with it…plan better, drive less!

In 53 years for pleasure and work I have driven around 4 million miles…that is about 200,000 gallons of fuel! At today’s prices that would be close to $600,000 dollars. I doubt we will ever see gas under $2.00 again. If you stop and think of $.25 a gallon gas 50 years ago and the average new car was $2200…take 10 times the cost of today’s car and gas is right in line.

In my opinion today’s concerns should be with cell phones, teen age girls & young women…I would guess they are the #1 cause of car wrecks on today’s roads.
